The leaves are falling, the temperatures are dropping, and I’ve broken into my cardigan stash – it’s officially fall, ya’ll. Here in Washington County, the best way to celebrate the changing season is by packing the family up for a day at a local farm’s fall festival.

No matter what the apple of your eye is this fall season: pumpkin patches, corn mazes, hayrides, kids’ activities, or (if you’re like me) the food, you can’t go wrong at any of these fall staple festivals. If you’re a fall fanatic, you just might want to try them all. You know... for research purposes, of course.

FYI – If you’re taking pictures this fall, be sure to post them, tag us and use the hashtag #GoWashCo for a chance to be featured by us!

Simmons Farm

Back to Top of List

If you’re in the market for an entire day of fall activities, this one is for you. Simmons Farm in McMurray has so many fall activities going on I can’t even list them all. Just to include a few, there’s pumpkin corn hole, double mega slide, both 2 and 4-acre corn mazes, rubber duck races, a petting zoo and apple launching. All of that is in addition to classic activities like pumpkin and apple picking and hayrides.

The fall fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down, either – visitors can schedule a night hayride that drops you and your group off at a night bonfire with all the apples and marshmallows your heart could desire.

Simmons Farms’ fall activities are going on now through November 3. The farm is open Monday – Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday – Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
